DOCONF2025 / accepted abstracts
The application and selection process for the Doconf 2025 / Facing Post-Socialist Urban Heritage conference has been successfully completed: we are looking for 42 doctoral candidates from 13 European countries working on urban design issues.

The 2025 conference proposes five sessions focusing on the mass housing neighborhoods / historical urban fabric / shrinking cities / public space / ruralscape.
The conference will take place on the 9-11th of October 2025, at the BME, Budapest.
Facing Post-Socialist Urban Heritage:
The DOCONF2025 is the 6th international doctoral/post-doctoral conference organized by the Department of Urban Planning and Design, Faculty of Architecture, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). The conference will be held in Budapest on the 9-11th of October 2025.
The Doconf series provides a comparative overview of current doctoral research in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning focusing on the urban challenges related to the physical – built and natural – environment of the post-socialist cities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), and post-soviet Asia. Those invited include doctoral students or post-doctoral researchers specializing in architecture, urban design, urban planning, or landscape architecture.
