Facing Post-Socialist Urban Heritage / the proceedings of the international conference have been published

The Department of Urban Planning and Design at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) organised the latest event in its international conference series, entitled Facing Post-Socialist Urban Heritage, on October 9-11, 2025. The doctoral conference was attended by young researchers from various doctoral schools of architecture and/or urban planning in 14 European countries, who compared the urban planning and design challenges of post-socialist cities in Central and Eastern Europe.

As a summary of the conference, an open-access volume of proceedings has now been published, containing 29 research articles. The studies were peer reviewed by the conference’s international scientific board in several rounds prior to publication. The e-book format collection of studies, which has its own ISBN number, is freely available at the link below and can be downloaded by anyone interested:
