Yelena McLane, Ph.D. Persons who have experienced trauma may have heightened sensitivity to their physical environments, which may support or hinder their recoveries. This presentation will explore the six fundamental needs of persons in crisis, together with associated principles of trauma-informed design, and offer a blueprint for architects and designers who work on residential and clinical projects for disadvantaged and vulnerable populations, including unhoused persons.
